THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING COALITION

The troop committment by coalition members keeps getting smaller and smaller.

The British Army is to start pulling troops out of Iraq next month despite the deteriorating security situation in much of the country, The Observer has learnt.

The main British combat force in Iraq, about 5,000-strong, will be reduced by around a third by the end of October during a routine rotation of units.
When, most likely by next summer, there are only US troops left in Iraq, can we finally agree that the invasion and subsequent occupation of the country is a unilateral US endeavor? Or will you right whingers cling to the fantasy that Bush really does have a coalition because the Marshall Islands are still behind him, if not in body at least in spirit?

Happy thoughts to you.
